Second Man Arrested In Half-Way-Tree Hit & Run

A second man, who’s alleged to have been driving the taxi that mowed down two pedestrians in Half-way-Tree, St. Andrew last week, has been taken into police custody.

Acting head of the Constabulary’s Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch, Senior Superintendent, Gary McKenzie, says he’s Chad Ingram.

SSP McKenzie says Ingram had 79 outstanding traffic tickets.

Ingram reportedly turned himself in to the police on the weekend.

The designated driver of the taxi that injured the two people, George Malcolm, was taken into custody last week.

He identified Ingram as the driver of the car at the time of the incident.

Ingram is reportedly being interviewed by the police.

Charges are expected to be laid against both Ingram and Malcolm.

The hit and run happened on Eastwood Park Road on Wednesday.

A 17 second clip of the incident went viral on social media.

The clip showed Rushane Aarons and Princess Stoddart both being hit and flung in the air by the car that drove on to the side walk.

Both were hospitalized where, Mr. Aarons received treatment for a broken hip, broken foot and head injuries.

Ms. Stoddart has extensive bruising all over her body.
